    5th—Chicago’s Scotland Yard Gospel Choir, having recently finished off a new album on Bloodshot Records, plays at Mississippi Studios. SYGC’s harmonic folk-punk joins the upbeat-punk sound of the Clash with catchy ’60s pop vocals and melodies. Playing with Portland’s The Online Romance, whose sound could safely be compared to PDX-compatriots The Shins’ early subdued tunes and vocals.

Vecchiarelli’s legacy as a punk rock musician — both as a solo artist as well as for the band Splinter — seeps into his songwriting, which ranges from emotionally charged vocals to morose and quiet murmurs. Playing with Portland’s James McFarland, a prototypical Portland gothic cowboy.
